Recent Progress on Tau Lepton Physics

Antonio Pich

The large tau data samples collected at the B Factories provide precise tests of the electroweak and strong interactions. The present status of some selected topics on tau physics will be presented, such as charged-current universality tests, bounds on lepton-flavour violation, the determination of alpha_s from the inclusive tau hadronic width and the measurement of  V_us through the Cabibbo-suppressed decays of the tau. The spectral distribution of the final hadrons in the tau decay contains also important information on non-perturbative QCD aspects, with implications for the Standard Model prediction of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2). An updated discussion of these subject will be given.
